The Quiet Days After Retrieval

This part is better told from her side.

I remember I didn’t really say much during those days.

I remember those few days after the retrieval very clearly.

Not because anything big happened…
but because nothing was happening yet.

Just waiting.

They told me how many eggs were taken.
Then after that, it became very quiet.
No more action I could do. No more things to “improve”.

Only wait.

I didn’t say much during that time.
Even at home, I think I was quite normal.
Eat, rest, talk like usual.

But inside… I kept thinking.

How many will become mature?
Will it fertilize?
Will any of them make it?

I didn’t ask these questions out loud.
I just let them stay in my head.

Sometimes I felt a bit nervous…
but not the kind that shows.
More like… something sitting quietly in my chest.

We already knew we only had this one chance.
So every number that was going to come next felt important.
But at the same time, I also didn’t want to hold it too tightly.

So I just waited.

Day by day.

Looking back now,
I think that period taught me something without me realizing it at that time.

There are moments in this journey where
you really cannot do anything more.

You just… wait and see.

And somehow,
learn how to be okay inside that space.
